Geologist Examination
The Indian Geologist exam, conducted by the UPSC, has three stages: Stage I (Prelims), Stage II (Mains), and Stage III (Personality Test). The preliminary exam is an objective-type test with two papers: General Studies (100 marks) and Geology/Geophysics/Chemistry (300 marks). The mains exam is descriptive and includes three stream-specific papers, each worth 200 marks. The final stage is a personality test worth 200 marks.
To be eligible for the Indian Geologist (UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist) exam, you must be an Indian citizen between 21 and 32 years old, with a Master's degree in a relevant subject like Geology, Geophysics, or Chemistry. Specific educational qualifications vary by the post you apply for, and age relaxations are available for reserved categories.

- Paper I: General Studies: 100 marks, 2 hours duration
- Paper II (Subject Specific): 300 marks, 2 hours duration. This paper is for the stream chosen by the candidate (e.g., Geology, Geophysics, Chemistry).
