BPSC CDPO

The BPSC CDPO exam is a three-stage process: Prelims, Mains, and InterviewThe Prelims are an objective test of 150 marks, followed by the Mains which includes compulsory (General Hindi, General Studies I & II) and optional papers (Home Science, Psychology, Sociology, or Labour and Social Welfare). The final stage is a 120-mark interview.  
Exam stages
  • An objective-type exam with 150 questions covering General Knowledge and General Awareness. There is no negative marking. 
  • A descriptive exam for candidates who clear the Prelims cut-off. It has two sections: 
    • Compulsory papers: General Hindi, General Studies I, and General Studies II. 
    • Optional papers: Choose one from Home Science, Psychology, Sociology, or Labour and Social Welfare. 
  • The final stage for candidates who pass the Mains exam. It is a 120-mark personality test.

The Bihar CDPO exam is a three-stage selection process for the Child Development Project Officer post: a preliminary exam, a mains exam, and an interview. The preliminary exam is a 150-mark objective test on General Knowledge, while the mains exam is subjective with four papers: General Hindi, General Studies I, General Studies II, and an optional paper (e.g., Home Science, Psychology, Sociology). Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree to be eligible.  

Exam process

  • Preliminary Exam: A 150-mark objective-type written test on General Knowledge. 
  • Mains Exam: A subjective exam with four papers: General Hindi, General Studies Paper I, General Studies Paper II, and one optional subject from a list including Home Science, Psychology, Sociology, or Labour and Social Welfare. 
  • Interview: Candidates who clear the mains exam proceed to a final interview, which is worth 120 marks. 

Eligibility criteria

  • Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens. Those from outside Bihar must have a Bihar domicile.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university is required.
  • Age Limit: The minimum age is 21 years. The maximum age is 37 years for general category candidates, with relaxations for other categories.
